Dengue claims one more life in Karachi, raising death toll to 11

KARACHI: The dengue virus, which has of late spread rapidly in the country, claimed another life here on Wednesday, raising the death toll to 11 this year.

Since the past 24 hours, 405 additional cases of dengue have surfaced in Punjab.

The provincial health department revealed that Rawalpindi has had 126 cases surfacing, 210 in Islamabad and 10 in Lahore.

Meanwhile in Peshawar, the recent number of cases reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was 161, mounting the toll in the province to 2,942.

The Punjab government has decided to counter the epidemic by distributing anti-dengue kits amongst the public.
