DUBAI: Former military ruler Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf plans to take part in Pakistan's politics again and revive his political party as his health condition has improved.

The former president of the country had been recuperating in Dubai after suffering from what was reported in the media as a rare disease.

Based in Dubai, the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) chief is also due to address his supporters in Islamabad on Sunday (October 6) via a video link on the occasion of the party's foundation day.

He is also said to have visited the United States last week for medical examination.

The party said, Musharraf, who ruled Pakistan for almost a decade, is unlikely to return to Pakistan anytime soon.

In March, the APML said Musharraf was admitted to a hospital after suffering a reaction from a rare disease that weakened his nervous system.

The 76-year-old is facing a treason case in Pakistan for suspending the constitution in 2007.
