Multan dacoits strangle woman, allegedly rape daughter for resisting robbery

MULTAN: Three dacoits strangled a woman to death and allegedly raped her daughter for resisting during a robbery attempt here in Chak 9/MR of the city's Makhdoom Rasheed area on Sunday, police confirmed.

According to Multan police, when the three suspects broke into the house and started looting, the women in the house protested. Angered, they strangled Parveen Bibi and allegedly raped her 22-year-old daughter before fleeing with valuables and mobile phones.

The deputy superintendent of police (DSP), Nasrullah Warraich, said investigation was underway in this regard and that three police teams were formed to search and arrest the suspects.

DSP Warraich added that a medical test of the rape survivor was also being carried out.

On the other hand, the inspector-general of police (IGP) for Punjab, Arif Nawaz Khan, summoned a report on the incident from the regional police officer (RPO) and the city police officer (CPO) for Multan.
