KARACHI/DHAKA: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) plans to send a security team amid the uncertainty of a visit of their Under 16 and women’s cricket teams to Pakistan — though the situation still remains unclear.

The U16 cricket series has been scheduled from October 25 while the women’s team series is slated for October 26 onward at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium.

In this regard, BCB Chief Executive Nizam Uddin Chaudhry said: “The visit shall be made after security clearance.”

Both teams face uncertainty regarding their visit to Pakistan but it would only be confirmed once the the Bangladeshi government and their security department grant security clearance.

According to PCB sources, both countries' boards were in contact regarding the visit. As per their understanding, the tour was to continue as per schedule.

Prior to the tour, Dhaka had indicated its interest in sending its security delegation to Pakistan.

On the other hand, Pakistan’s women cricket team has already started their practice against its Bangladeshi counterpart at the Country Club in Muridke.

Separately, the Bangladeshi cricket team has planned to play a series against Pakistan cricket team here in January or February. The series would include three Twenty20 (T20) matches and two Test matches, which will be a part of the ICC Test championship.

Recently, the Sri Lankan cricket team had a successful tour to Pakistan, wherein they were provided presidential-level security. It is expected that the Bangladeshi team would also receive the same protocol.
