Karachi man, married thrice, injures wife by opening fire over domestic dispute

KARACHI: A man, who married three times, injured his wife by opening fire on her over a domestic dispute on Wednesday, police confirmed, adding that the incident occurred in Junejo Town in Baloch Colony police station's jurisdiction.

Police said they have registered a first information report (FIR) against the suspect, Abdul Jabbar, over the firing incident but that raids were being carried out to search for the suspect who fled after shooting his wife.

The FIR was filed on behalf of the injured woman's brother. Police said they also recovered a gun, 10 rounds of a TT pistol and two bullet shells and that the suspect hailed from Punjab's city of Sadiqabad.

According to police, Jabbar had married his third wife almost five years ago and the couple has two daughters. Last night, during a domestic dispute, he opened fire on her in his anger and wounded her.

The woman was admitted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) in a severely wounded condition.
