FBR working to curb under-invoicing of imports 'to save local industry': Shabbar Zaidi

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has been working to curb the under-invoicing of imports "to save local industry", the organisation's chairperson, Shabbar Zaidi, said Tuesday.

In a post on Twitter, Zaidi said: "FBR is seriously working to curb under invoicing of imports. Valuation system and processes are being improved."

The FBR chair, however, requested the country's business fraternity as well as the chambers of commerce to assist the organisation in working to stop the under-invoicing of imports.

"Nevertheless, FBR seeks the support of business community including Chambers of Commerce on this matter. This issue is highly important to save local industry," he said.
