The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) infections in Pakistan rose to 34 after one more case was confirmed in Islamabad on Sunday.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared the coronavirus a "pandemic" as more than 5,800 people died and the infected toll shot above 150,000 across the globe.
WHO has repeatedly asked people to follow basic seven measures to ensure that a person stays safe from the virus.
WHO has urged people to thoroughly and regularly clean hands with soap or an alcohol-based hand rub. Washing hands may seem like a basic act but it is the most useful defence as it helps kill viruses that may be on our hands, including the coronavirus.
WHO also recommends to avoid touching surfaces that may not be clean and pick up viruses that may enter the body through our eyes, mouths and nose.
When an individual covers their cough or sneeze they stop the spread of viruses and germs to other people. The elbow bend is the preferred method to over the cough or the sneeze as it does not contaminate your hands.
The global health body has urged people to avoid crowded places as COVID-19 spreads mostly through respiratory droplets that come out of the mouth or nose.
By adopting this basic precaution one can recover quickly and also void infecting others.
This measure will help an individual get the right advice and can be asked to reach out to the right health facility that would contain the disease.
The latest updates will ensure that a person knows what is reliable as the COVID-19 is a new disease and a vaccine for it is still not available.
