COVID-19: NCOC launches helpline to facilitate frontline health workers

National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC), in collaboration with Digital Pakistan, on Friday launched a helpline to support and facilitate frontline health workers — including doctors, paramedics and other medical workers — in the fight against coronavirus.

Taking to Twitter, the premier's special adviser on health Dr Zafar Mirza announced that through the launched helpline, a complaint management system will direct the complaints to NCOC and the relevant provincial authority will inform complainants about the the required action.

"To support font-line workers, NCOC & Digital Pakistan launched today a HELPLINE. Call 1166 or send a Whats app [message] to +92 300 1111166. A complaint management system will direct it to NCOC & relevant provincial authority and complainants will be informed about the action," Mirza wrote on Twitter.


Govt launches helpline for blood, plasma donations

In a bid to facilitate patients, the government on June 14 had launched a helpline to ensure the availability of blood as well as COVID-19 plasma, as regular blood drives across the country are on hold due to the worsening coronavirus situation.

“We have set up a helpline for the donors, especially for COVID-19 survivors, to facilitate them in blood donation,” said Saqib Mumtaz, a spokesperson for the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

Pakistan establishes Corona WhatsApp Helpline

Earlier, on March 31, the it had launched a 'Corona Helpline' on Whatsapp to help citizens get the latest information on the virus outbreak in the country.

Citizens can get coronavirus related information, latest statistics, and information regarding the nearest labs by sending a ‘Hi’ to 00923001111166.

The helpline is available in seven languages, English, Urdu, Punjabi, Pashto, Sindhi, Balochi, and Kashmiri.
