RAWALPINDI: Police have arrested as many as 13 persons here on Thursday in connection with a dispute emerged over the ownership rights of a mosque.

According to details, a dispute came out when two rival groups claimed possession of a mosque in Gulzar-e-Quaid area.

The clash between the two groups also occurred last night when one group took the control of the mosque claiming that it was under their administration. On Thursday, the other group started protest on airport road causing severe traffic problems for the public. Police have registered FIR and 13 persons on charges of creating law and order situation and blocking the road, have been arrested, said Sikander Khan of the respective Police Station.

He said, the court would decide the matter and no one is allowed to take control of the mosque. (APP)
