RAWALPINDI: The construction work of Chandani Chowk Flyover had been completed upto 40 percent and it would be completed till March 13, 2012 within the stipulated time.
Two pedestrian bridges would be connected with fly over to cross Murree Road, one from inside the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Hospital (BBH) for the convenience of attendants of the patients and the other would be installed in Rehmanabad Chowk. These bridges are the parts of fly over project.
The land of two petrol pumps situated adjacent to the BBH would be got released after 12th January to remove the impediments for the completion of fly over project.
This was decided in a meeting which was held in Commissioner's office Rawalpindi to review the progress in theconstruction work of fly over. The meeting was presided by MNAMuhammad Hanif Abbasi along with Commissioner Rawalpindi Zahid Saeed. It was decided in a meeting on the direction of MNA Muhammad Hanif Abbasi to stop the reconstruction work of traffic police post situated on Chandani Chowk and it would bestarted after the design would be approved by the committee of flyover project. Muhammad Hanif Abbasi also directed the contractor to level both sides of the road adjacent to the fly over project for the smooth flow of traffic as well as for to avoid any sort of inconvenience for the commuters and owners of electronic shops.
Commissioner Rawalpindi directed WAPDA authorities to remove the electric poles from both sides of the flyover project as early as possible on which the WAPDA authorities informed that most of the poles have been shifted and the rest of thework would be completed up to January 18. The Commissioner also directed RDA authorities on the identification of Muhammad Hanif Abbasi that pedestrian bridge already removed from in front of BBH should be installed near Gulshan Daden Khan on Murree Road for the convenience of the local residents to avoid any sort of accident.
Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, MNA has appealed to the citizens to follow the traffic signs for the alternate routes to avoid any sort of inconvenience in this regard, he added. (APP)
