Nabil Gabol joins MQM, says PPP no longer Benazir’s party

KARACHI: Nabil Gabol has officially left the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and joined the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM). Gabol announced his decision during a news conference at MQM headquarters Nine Zero.

Gabol was accorded warm welcome upon his arrival at Nine Zero by members of the MQM’s Coordination Committee and party workers.

Gabol said that PPP was no longer the party of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, therefore, he decided to quit it after 25-year long affiliation.

Praising MQM Chief Altaf Hussain’s leadership qualities, he said that the true leader considers his workers like his children, which is demonstrated by Altaf Hussain.

The former PPP leader further said that the MQM chief had shown concern for his well being while his former party had disregarded his constituency (Lyari). “It is better for me to leave the PPP and help the people of Lyari.”

He said his task in the MQM would be to bridge differences and work towards establishing brotherhood among different ethnicities. Gabol added that he always felt Nine Zero was his second home.

Speaking during the news conference, MQM Deputy Convenor, Farooq Sattar welcomed Gabol to the party, saying his inclusion would help further to achieve the vision of Altaf Hussain across Pakistan and especially in Sindh.
