Lahore Qalandars defeated Quetta Gladiators in the final of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 winning the title for the third time along with bagging a prize money worth millions of rupees.
Qalandars become the only second team to achieve this milestone after Islamabad United.
In the final PSL match, which was played in Lahore, Gladiators won the toss and elected to bat against Qalandars.
Choosing to bat first, Gladiators scored 201 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Notably, the Quetta's side suffered an early setback as captain Saud Shakeel was dismissed by Qalandars' skipper and left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi for just fours runs off six balls, leaving the Gladiators at 17-1 in 2.4 overs.
However, the Lahore's team achieved the target of 202 runs on the fifth ball of the last over and eventually won the title for the third time.
In a thrilling chase of 202 runs, they began aggressively with Mohammad Naeem and Fakhar Zaman laying a strong foundation.
In addition to winning the title and hearts of their fans, Qalandars also received the PSL 10 prize money of $500,000, which is approximately over Rs140 million.
On the other side, the runner-up team, Gladiators received $200,000, which is equivalent to over Rs56 million.
