Rei Ami cracked up the crowd with her unscripted pep talk as the Huntr/x trio won Hitmakers of the Year.

Ami, 30, EJAE and Audrey Nuna, the singers who provide the voices for the K-pop group in the movie KPop Demon Hunters, were honoured at Variety's Hitmakers event over the weekend.

They received the coveted award, acknowledging the immense success of the movie's soundtrack, particularly their hit song Golden, which received several Grammy nominations.

Briefly overwhelmed, when the three stepped on the stage to accept the honour, Ami stole the moment with an impromptu pep talk, breaking the audience into laughs. "Don’t cry, b*tch. Get it together," she said to herself.

After years of hard work and little recognition, the singer and rapper, whose real name is Sarah Yeeun Lee, said the trio’s work as Huntr/x presented "the perfect chance for the three of us. An opportunity to become friends and sisters for life."

For the unversed, Golden from Netflix's film has broken numerous major streaming and chart records.

It became the first K-pop song by a girl group to top the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, first girl group to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 since Destiny's Child in 2001.

The song reached one billion streams on Spotify, making it the first song from an animated movie to achieve this milestone.

The soundtrack became the fastest album by any Asian act in Spotify history to reach three billion streams.

In addition to the track, setting other records, the film itself became the streaming platform’s most popular movie and most-watched animated film of all time.
