KARACHI: Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) leader Moulana Aurangzeb Farooqi Wednesday asked the Supreme Court (SC) to take the notice of the killing of his party’s spokesman Moulana Akbar Saeed Farooqi, Geo News reported.
Talking to newsmen outside SC Karachi registry, Aurangzeb Farooqi said that the heirs of 300 slain AWSJ workers had not been compensated yet despite SC orders, adding that Sindh government has failed to restore peace in Karachi.
Moulana demanded of the government to depoliticize police and launch an indiscriminate action against criminal elements involved in the unrest.
He also rejected the demand made by Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) for handing Karachi over to army. He said the demand came from the party which had been the part of government for five years.
