ISLAMABAD: An anti terrorism court on Thursday reserved the verdict on the bail petition of Kanwal, wife of key accused in the Islamabad standoff case Malik Sikandar, Geo News reported.
According to the sources, the ATC judge Ateequr Rehman conducted the hearing of bail petition of accused Kanwal. During the proceedings, police presented the video of the incident through USB before the judge.
Public prosecutor pleaded the court to dismiss Kanwal’s bail petition while her lawyer Kulsoom Khaliq argued that her client is innocent and she has not used any weapon.
Later, the court saved the verdict on her bail petition that is expected to be announced at 1 pm.
It may be mentioned that Malik Sikandar accompanied by his wife and children brought the federal capital to a standstill as he brandished a sub-machine gun and a Kalashnikov on Jinnah Avenue, fired shots in the air, and put forth irrational demands to the government.
