Sherpao’s party announces to quit KP government

PESHAWAR: The Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) has announced to part ways with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government a day after Imran Khan advised Chief Minister Pervez Khattak to pull out of coalition with the Aftab Sherpao-led party.

Imran Khan was of the view that the party failed to take action against its cabinet members for their involvement in corruption despite two warnings by the PTI. On Wednesday, the KP chief minister sacked two ministers belonging to the QWP.

Addressing a press conference QWPs’ senior leader Sikandar Sherpao announced to quit the provincial government and told media that they were not fond of joining the government instead it was PTI, who invited them to join the coalition.

He said that the QWP had asked the PTI to come up with a clear policy on corruption but Imran Khan’s party didn’t pay any heed. Sherpao said that the PTI was under political pressure and was trying to befool the people.
