Rules followed over Altaf’s request for Pakistani passport: Wajid

LONDON: Former Pakistan High Commissioner in UK, Wajid Shamsul Hassan Tuesday said rules and regulations were followed on MQM Chief Altaf Hussain’s application for issuance of Pakistani passport.

In a statement, Wajid Shamsul Hassan said Altaf Hussain was not granted any concessions.

He said Altaf Hussain had expressed his inability to visit Pakistani High Commission for the purpose and asked for taking the photo and fingerprints at the MQM Secretariat in London.

The former high commissioner said the specified form was filled out in accordance with the law and no violation was committed.

He said Altaf Hussain, being a Pakistani, is entitled to a national identity card.
