HYDERABAD: A policeman, who was on duty at the barrack of US journalist Daniel Pearl's killer Omar Sheikh, has been gunned down near central jail in Hyderabad.
The police suspect that banned organizations is involved in the killing of the policeman. Secret agencies had shared information that jail personnel or officers could be attacked.
The police said that the victim received five to six bullet wounds. The injured policeman was immediately rushed to the Liaquat University hospital where he breathed his last.
Omar Shaikh is a convicted murderer of US journalist Daniel Pearl.
It is pertinent to mention here that five policemen have been killed in Hyderabad while several more sustained injuries in separate incidents of firing in a week.
