KARACHI: Banks will remain open for public dealing on the first of Ramzan-ul-Mubarak, Geo News reported on Friday.
State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) unlike previous practice for the first time directed banks not to close the public dealings on the first of Ramzan for Zakat deductions, which would now be done by banks during the first banking hours due to which some problems might arise in cash deposits/withdrawals.
Besides, National Bank of Pakistan’s particular branches would remain open on Saturday, June 28 and Sunday June 29 for receiving tax payments.
SBP further said that banks would remain closed on the first day of the new fiscal year i.e. July 1, Tuesday.
