Pakistan’s former ambassador Ahsani laid to rest in Dallas
DALLAS: Former Pakistani Ambassador and late Chairman of American Muslim Alliance Southwest and prominent leader of Pakistani American community Syed Ahmad Ahsani was laid to rest in Joshua Muslim cemetery in Joshua near Fort Worth Texas with sadness in the air, grief, sorrow and tears in the community's eyes.

Hundreds of grieving friends, students, and family attended the funeral and burial of Ambassador Ahsani. The funeral prayer was offered at Ibrahimi mosque in Fort Worth where a large number of American and Muslim community leaders were present.

Attendees of the funeral also offered condolences to Ambassador Ahsani’s son Farhan Ahsani and his widow Sajida Ahsani, his close friends and students in political activism in the funeral includes, Moazzam Syed, MCCHS Chairman Emeritus Dr. Bashir Ahmad, and AMDC Co-Chair. Syed Fayyaz Hassan, MDC TX President Aftab Siddiqui, Farooq Khan and Dr. Rehana Sarwar, saint Sufi Ameer Khan, Emad Salem, Noor Siddiqui, Khamis Awaida, Walid Joulani, South Asia Democracy Watch Director, Raja Zahid Khanzada, ISNA Vice President Azhar Aziz, Amin Tirmizi, Saeed Qureshi, Ahad Ghafoor, Syed Ilyas from Austin, Parvez Malik and hundreds of civic and community leaders of North Texas.

Ambassador Ahsani’s friend and colleague at AMA Moeazam Syed paying tributes to him said that the role of Ahsani in forming a Muslim community after his retirement from diplomatic services has resulted in several activist groups and a large number of community and political activists. He said that Ahsanis’ services will have great impact on shaping of our coming generations.

Dr Bashir Ahmed also presented his remarks where he reminded the attendees of Ambassador Ahsani’s services.

Pakistan Consulate and Council General has issued official status social media and communique in which he has prayed for the departed soul.

Ambassador Ahsani was 85 years old. His has created a void in American Muslim Leadership which will be difficult to fill. He was a popular leader among community members and political leadership of local, state and National Democratic Party.
