KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh on Wednesday said that women were being hired in the police department on the directives of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
On the other hand, Bilawal denied giving any orders to police for hiring women personnel and said that he just gave a suggestion to the provincial government.
Talking to newsmen in Karachi, IGP Ghulam Haider Jamali said that women were less in numbers in the department and Bilawal Bhutto has also ordered hiring of women in the police.
After being criticized on social media, PPP chairman clarified that he gave no such orders, adding that hiring of women in the police department is the party’s policy.
