LHC objects, returns Gullu Butt’s application challenging sentence
LAHORE: Gullu Butt, the notorious man involved in damaging vehicles in Lahore during the Model Town tragedy, on Thursday challenged his 11 year jail term in the Lahore High Court (LHC).

The LHC office returned his application after raising the objection that the power of attorney was not signed by Gullu Butt. His lawyer told the court that he had sent the power of attorney to get it signed by Butt, however, he did not return it.

On October 30, an anti-terrorism court had sentenced Gullu Butt to 11 years and three months in prison along with a fine of Rs100,000 on him.

Butt’s lawyer, in the application, claimed that his client was wrongly sentenced to prison as he was not involved in damaging any property and only broke glasses. He stated that the crime was of minor nature and was sentenced unfairly, therefore, the sentence should be reduced.
