KARACHI: Anti Corruption Department on Wednesday raided four government hospitals, an office of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) near civil hospital and sought details on purchase of ‘dengue spray’.
Acting upon complaints regarding financial embezzlement, the Anti Corruption Department raided New Karachi Government, Baldi Government, Lyari General and Korangi Government hospitals.
The officials took into custody hospitals’ records. Details of doctors of Baldia government hospital and record of finance department were also seized for examination.
According to Director Anti-Corruption Nazar Muhammad, Store Incharge of Lyari General hospital Muhammad Akbar and store keeper Khursheed were also arrested during the raid.
He said the arrested men were allegedly involved in issuing expired medicines to patients.
