Modi looking forward to meeting Nawaz Sharif in Lahore today

NEW DELHI: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday took to social media to express his desire to meet with Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Lahore today.

Modi tweeted, "Looking forward to meeting PM Nawaz Sharif in Lahore today afternoon, where I will drop by on my way back to Delhi."

Modi who will be heading home from Afghanistan today is expected to stop over in Lahore this afternoon.

The Indian prime minister also telephoned his Pakistani counterpart to wish him a happy birthday.
