PIA office in New Delhi vandalised by Hindu extremists

Members of Bajrang Dal ransack PIA office at Barakhamba Road in New Delhi; no casualties reported

ISLAMABAD: The office of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in New Delhi was attacked by members of a Hindu extremist organisation on Thursday, Indian media reported.

According to reports from Indian media, the PIA office at Barakhamba Road in Delhi was vandalised by activists of Bajrang Dal, which is known to be the militant wing of the radical Hindu Sena group.

Reports said a large crowd gathered outside the PIA office and chanted anti-Pakistan slogans, before they forcefully entered the office and ransacked it.

There were no reports of any casualties, but the glass windows of the office were said to have been shattered and computers and other equipment damaged in the attack.

A spokesman for PIA confirmed the incident, and said that police had been called in to take the situation under control.
