NADRA directed to verify thumb impressions and submit report to court within three months, orders apex court
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered verification of votes in the National Assembly's NA-110 (Sialkot) constituency, from where Defence Minister Khawaja Asif had was elected in the 2013 general elections.
The apex court has directed the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to verify counterfoils and thumb impressions on the votes in the Sialkot constituency.
NADRA has been ordered to submit its report to the Supreme Court within three months.
PTI’s Usman Dar had challenged Asif's victory in the election. An election tribunal had earlier dismissed Dar's petition, but Dar later moved the petition in the apex court.
