KARACHI: Funeral prayers were offered for the seven policemen killed in an attack at Orangi Town on Wednesday.
The policemen performing guard duties for an anti-polio campaign in the area, were killed in two separate firing incidents by eight unidentified gunmen at Disco Mor and Bangla Bazar.
The funeral prayers were offered at SSU Headquarters District West and were attended by Chief Minister Sindh, Provincial Home Minister, Corps Commander Karachi, DG Rangers, IG Sindh and other important personalities.
Meanwhile, IG Sindh Police A.D Khawaja told that the militants involved in the firing incidents belong to a banned organisation and they would soon be arrested.
The bodies have been transferred to their hometowns where they will be buried.
Constables Daim Deen, Wazir Ali and Ghullam Ali belonged to Ghotki. Constable Yaseen belonged to Sanghar. Constable Abdul Sattar belonged to Mandi Bahauddin. Rustam Ali hailed from Khushab, while Haji Ismail belonged to Karachi.
