ISLAMABAD: The Utility Stores Corporation on Friday reduced the prices of pulses back to their old prices after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif took notice of the reports and directed it not to increase prices of essential goods without his prior approval.

The price of pulses at the Utility Stores saw an exceptional rise earlier in the day.

The price of white chickpeas was increased by Rs40 per kilogram to be sold at Rs155 per kilo. The price of black chickpeas similarly was raised by Rs30 per kg. Chana Daal was hiked to Rs153 per kg from its old price at Rs 120 per kg. Mash Daal price was also increased from Rs275 to Rs280 per kg.
