LONDON: The Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) has appealed to overseas Pakistanis to support Mustafa Kamal and Anis Qaimkhani in their “mission against the evil forces wanting to damage Pakistan.”

The PSP held its first ever press conference here at the Pakistan Community Centre in Willesden Green, which was attended by activists from MQM and Pervez Musharraf’s All Pakistan Muslim League (APML).

Senior PSP leaders Raza Haroon, Muhammad Raza, chief organiser PSP UK, and Anis Advocate addressed the press conference and announced a 16-member strong organising committee, which will work on the party’s membership and will announce new units including the opening up of an office.

Anis Advocate alleged that MQM chief Altaf Hussain has been using the UK soil for anti-Pakistan activities. He said that for nearly three decades Hussain has used London as his hub to destabilise and damage Pakistan which must be stopped now.

He appealed to the British government to stop allowing Altaf Hussain for his alleged anti-Pakistan activities. He said that the MQM had fooled Karachiites in the name of language and ethnicity but now Mustafa Kamal has “raised the flag of Pakistan.”

Former MQM Rabita Committee member and provincial minister, Raza Haroon claimed that MQM’s vote bank has collapsed and the recent voters’ turnout showed that that nearly 90 percent voters didn’t bother to come out to vote for the MQM candidates.

He said that activists of Imran Khan’s PTI, APML and other parties were joining PSP because they didn’t see a hope in traditional faces of politics. He said that Mustafa Kamal and Anis Qaimkhani had brought freshness in politics because they challenged the might of Altaf Hussain in the biggest city of Pakistan.

He said the MQM has failed to deliver to the masses and only used the youth for political and emotional slogans. He called on Altaf Hussain to end his exile and go back to Karachi.

Raza Haroon said BBC had reported that MQM was being funded by the RAW but several months have passed and the party has not sued the British broadcaster ‘because it knows it’s guilty and can’t defend itself.’

He said Sarfraz Merchant used a Scotland Yard paper to accuse the MQM of being on the pay of RAW but the MQM has not taken any legal action against the Scotland Yard or Merchant because it knows what the truth is.

Haroon said Mustafa Kamal will visit London after Eid and will address rallies across the UK. He said the response to PSP’s message was overwhelming across the country.

Raza Haroon said senior PTI figures in Karachi had already joined the PSP and many big names will join the party in coming days.

Activists who defected fromthe MQM and APML to PSP included Ghulam Nabi Amir, Sarwar Khan, Arshad Siddiqui, Shumail Hasan, Rehan Araeen, Fahad Warsi, Mirza Faisal, Muhammad Ali, Mr Jawaid, Faisal Rehman, Chaudhry Pervaiz Akhtar, Ghulam Hussain Sheikh, Naeem Abbas Khan, Faisal Noorani, Muhammad Imran and Imtiaz Akhtar.
