ISLAMABAD: After consultation with Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani, President Asif Ali Zardari has accepted the resignation of PM advisor on Information Technology Sardar Lateef Khosa on late Tuesday, Geo News reported.

All the same, the cabinet division has issued notification for the acceptance of his resignation.

According to government sources, the decision on the acceptance of Sardar Lateef Khosa’s resignation was reached when he met with President Zardari and Law Minister Babar Awan on Tuesday evening.

During the meting, Lateef Khosa proposed Law Minister Babar Awan to reign for advocacy of NRO review lawsuit from government however President Zardari decided that instead Babar Awan, Sardar Lateef Khosa should resign for the purpose.

Meanwhile, sources privy to Lateef Khosa confirmed to media that he may appear before apex court in replacement of barrister Kamal Azfar to defend government in NRO review lawsuit due to be heard on October 13.
