The famous gown was worn by the princess on a trip to Austria in the year 1986, where sheaccompaniedPrince Charles to agala. The gown was designed by the Princess’ close friend Catherine Walker and was worn by Diana on more than one occasion.

Princess Diana is said to have loved the gown. While speaking to People, theauctioneerTaylor said that, "It's a real razzle- dazzlenumber and it was unlike any other piece in her wardrobe."

It has been thirty years since the princessfirst wore the dress and to date the gown has been sold twice, and now for the third time after the death of its last owner.

It originally sold for $43,800 at Christie's in 1997 and later to the Austrian buyer for $108,206 in 2013.

The second piece of garment being auctioned is a wool dress coat by British designer Elizabeth Emmanuel that the princess was seen wearing on her trip to Venice in 1985.

Auctioneer Kerry Taylor of Kerry Taylor Auctions, who will be leading the event, noted: “The two Princess Diana pieces we have in this auction, although similar incolor, couldn't be more different. The sea-green sequinedevening gown by Catherine Walker, 1986 is full-on Hollywood glamour, and by far one of the more show-stopping, sultry pieces from her 1980s wardrobe. In stark contrast, the tartan wool day ensemble by the Emanuels is warm, practical and lady-like.”
