KARACHI: Rescue workers havebeen unable to recover the bodies of two young men who drowned in an open drain in the Saadi Town area.
Rescue workers say that 18-year-old Shiraz fell into the tank three days ago and drowned. His cousin Wahab jumped to save him but he ended up drowning as well. The search for their bodies continues even on the third day.
While speaking to the media, Shiraz’s father Qadir Bakhsh said that the Water Board has refused to stop the water flow from the back end and has said that the bodies will rise up to the surface in a day or two.
Qadir Bakhsh vowed to protest near the Karachi Toll plaza if the rescue work did not finish tillSaturday.
Last month, a seven-year old boy fell into amanholein Karachi’s MawachGoth area. Rescue workers did a week long search for the body but were unable to recover it.
