Powerful Cyclone Marcia makes landfall in Australia

Gladstone: Powerful Cyclone Marcia roared ashore Friday in a heavily-populated area of northeastern Australia as officials warned of a "calamity".

"Severe tropical cyclone Marcia, category 5, is currently crossing the coast near Shoalwater Bay north of Yeppoon," the Queensland Bureau of Meteorology tweeted. (AFP)
