MULTAN: Police suspects more than one person was involved in the murder of internet sensation Qandeel Baloch.
The main accused Qandeel’s brother Waseem confessed that he had plotted the murder with his relative Haq Nawaz, police said.
When Waseem killed Qandeel, Haq Nawaz was present in the house. Another relative Basit waited in a car at a distance from the house, he added. After committing the murder the three fled in his car.
Police has also arrested two of Qandeel's sisters-in-law from Dera Ghazi Khan.
Accused Waseem was shifted to Lahore from Multan last night for a polygraph test. The results will reveal more evidence.
The accused has been sent on judicial remand for interrogation till July 25.
Waseem, in his confession before media said that he’s a Baloch and his sister’s controversial videos and scandals had become unbearable for him.He said that he drugged her and then strangled her to death.
Prominent cleric Mufti Abdul Qavi, who made headlines last month for appearing in a video with model Qandeel Baloch, will be included in the murder investigation of the slain social media star, police said on Monday.
The mother of slain model Qandeel Baloch said that Mufti Abdul Qavi provoked her son into murdering her daughter.
Qandeel Baloch was killed by her brother in an apparent honour killing on July 16.
The murder took place when Qandeel was sleeping at her house in Muzaffabad, her parents said in a statement recorded to the police. Her parents were sleeping on the rooftop.
