SAHIWAL: Five suspected robbers were killed on Monday night in an alleged encounter with police in Sahiwal, while two cops also wounded in the exchange of fire.
The encounter that took place near Jhaal Road, Sahiwal, left five dacoits dead, while three of their accomplices managed to escape the scene, police said.
Two policemen were also wounded during the shootout that occurred late on Monday night, they added.
The wounded cops and the bodies of deceased robbers were shifted to hospital.
Officials said the identities of the deceased are being ascertained.
