ISLAMABAD: Top military and civilian leadership of the country held a second meeting on Thursday to discuss the security situation following two attacks in Quetta this week.
During the meeting, it was decided that a monitoring task force would be created to review the implementation of National Action Plan (NAP), sources told Geo News.
They said that representatives of federal and provincial governments and concerned agencies would also be included in the task force.
They said that consensus was reached over making National Counter Terrorism Authority functional and blocking foreign funds which sponsor terrorism on Pakistan soil.
At a meeting held on Wednesday at the Prime Minister House which the army chief, DG ISI, finance and interior ministers attended, it was decided that the federal government will provide all resources to the provinces for implementation of NAP.
All intelligence agencies were asked to communicate with provincial governments for implementation of NAP.
The meeting comes in the wake of two attacks in Quetta within a week, claiming the lives of dozens of people.
Earlier today, at least 13 people including a policeman were injured in a remote-controlled bomb blast near Saryab Flyover.
On Monday, 72 people were killed and 122 injured in a suicide blast at the Quetta Civil Hospital.
The explosion took place when Balochistan Bar Association President Bilal Kasi's body was being brought to the emergency department. He was gunned down at Mano Jan Road.
Former Balochistan Bar President Baz Muhammad Kakar was injured in the attack. He later succumbed to his wounds at the hospital.
