KARACHI: Administrations of various public hospitals in Karachi have been expressing concerns over security provided by the Sindh government.
The administration of the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) has decided to secure the hospital taking services of private security companies.
Executive Director JPMC, Professor Anisuddin Bhatti told Geo News that initially they plan to deploy 150 personnel to secure the 70-acre hospital premises.

Tenders have been placed and soon armed private security guards with metal detectors and walk-through gates will take on security responsibilities at the hospital.
Dr. Bhatti added, that while the hospital has a police and Rangers picket on site as well as unarmed watchmen patrolling the hospital grounds, they are not enough to secure the entire area.
Last week security officials, and Sindh government officials held a meeting at the Health Department to outline a plan for upgrading security at hospitals.
