Tensions continue to mount in the Indian occupied Kashmir Valley where security forces imposed a curfew on Eid-day, marking the 67th day of the lockdown.

Two Kashmiri youth were martyred while dozens were injured due to brutal actions by Indian forces on Eid ul Azha in Bandipore, Shopian. According to sources, the two young men were killed as they tried to make their way to the Eidgah to offer prayers.

The latest deaths have taken the recent death toll in the valley to 98.

No Eid prayers were held at Hazratbal Shrine in Srinagar, the first time in living memory, Indian media reported.

Occupying forces used brute force against unarmed protestors in Srinagar, Bandipore, Bijbehara, Kulgam, Islamabad, Shopian, Ganderbal, Kangan, Qazigund, Kupwara, Handwara, Sopore, Baramulla, Patten, Budgam, Chadoora, Pampore and other areas.

Protesters, including women and children defied the curfew and restrictions , were marching towards the United Nations Military Observers Group at Sonawar in Srinagar.

They shouted high-pitched slogans, Jeevey-Jeevey Pakistan, We Want Freedom, Go India Go back and hoisted Pakistani national flags.

Earlier this week, police and troops in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) decided to use chilli-based shells instead of pellet guns to quell protests, a minister said Monday, after hundreds of civilians sustained serious eye injuries in weeks of unrest.
