KARACHI: Captain Pakistan women’s cricket team Sana Mir on Thursday criticised the media for its “agenda-setting”, saying that few people in the media are working on their own agendas.

Talking to the media in Karachi, she said that no backup was being created for women’s team, adding that if the current situation persists, even teams like Ireland and Bangladesh would get ahead of us.

When asked about her captaincy, Sana said that she has no intention of giving up captaincy herself.

Pakistan captain said that New Zealand tour was very important and the team would have to work hard to achieve success.

Chief Selector Farrukh Zaman also defended Sana, saying that change of captaincy was not on the card before the World Cup in June next year.
