MQM Pakistan, London may face off in next elections: Nusrat

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) London leader Nadeem Nusrat Thursday said the candidates from Pakistan and London chapters of the party may face off in the next general elections.

Speaking to the anchorperson in Geo News' program 'Aaj Shahzaib Khanzada Kay Sath', the London-based party leader hinted at advancement with regard to resignations by MQM lawmakers in Pakistan in next 24 hours.

He, however, refrained from answering the question as to how many parliamentarians stand with London chapter of the party.

When asked about fielding a candidate on the seat fallen vacant after the resignation of MNA Sufyan Yousuf, Nadeem Nusrat said that it was too early to comment on this.

He reiterated that moving a resolution against the founder of the party was unacceptable.

In response to a question, Nusrat confirmed that he is a US national, however said that his parents and other family members still reside in Pakistan.
