HYDERABAD: One man was killed and three woman injured after earthquake jolted different Sindh cities including Hyderabad and Nawabshah late Thursday.
The 4.9 magnitude shocks were felt in Nawabshah, Hyderabad, Lateefabad, Matiari, Hala and Saeedabad late on Thursday night, according to the seismological center. The tremor forced people to come out of their houses looking for safer places while reciting verses from the Holy Quran.
Roof of a house partially caved in due to the shocks in Hyderabad, leaving a man and his three sisters wounded. The man was identified as Wasim.
The injured women were shifted to a hospital.
The depth of the quake was said to be 20 km below the surface of the earth, with its epicenter located some 60 km north-east of Nawabshah.
However, no loss of life or property was reported in its wake.
