MUMBAI: In the wake of Uri attack, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Anurag Thakur on Friday ruling out the possibility of resumption of Indo-Pak cricket, said that there was no question of playing with Pakistan.
According to Indian media, he said that there will be no cricket with Pakistan in near future.
There hasn’t been a complete bilateral series —comprising of Tests, ODIs and T20 matches— between the two Asian giants since 2007-08 when India visited Pakistan.
However, the green shirts visited their neighbours in a limited ODI series in 2012-13 which Pakistan won 2-1.
In 2014, under Najam Sethi, the PCB and BCCI had signed a MoU under which they were scheduled to play six series in the 2015-2023 Future Tours Programme, but all were subject to ‘clearance from New Delhi’.
There were talks of a series last year in the United Arab Emirates or Sri Lanka but the plans were shelved after the Indian and Pakistani governments failed to come to a conclusion on the venue.
