Sheikh Rashid says no one can make him evacuate
RAWALPINDI: Sheikh Rashid on Wednesday said that he received a notice from Evacuee Trust Property Board to leave 10 marlas land of hisresidence, Lal Haveli.
The notification stated that Sheikh Rashid’s hold on Lal Havelli's portion is illegal. Chairman of the board Sadiq Al Farooq said that the hold on the areamust be relinquished within 15 days.
The chairman said that the land was taken during Musharraf’s tenure.
Sheikh Rashid, however, refused to back down and said that ‘nobody can make him evacuate the portion’.
He said that he would announce lock down of Rawalpindi on Thursday at 3pm.
He said that Lal Havelli is his personal property and his hold on the property isn’t illegal.
Earlier, Rashid and his brother had requested that the land be allotted to them however it was turned down.
