ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday gave directions to reduce the duration of loadshedding to half across the country, said PM House spokesman.

The spokesman said that the PM has directed the Federal Secretary for Power and Water to take practical measures for implementation of the decision.

According to the spokesman, starting from Tuesday urban areas will face three hours while rural areas will have four hours of loadshedding.

The spokesman, however, said that those areas where bills are not properly paid will still have the same duration for loadshedding.

He said that currently there is six hours of loadshedding in urban while eight hours in rural areas in the country.
