Dr Qadri alleged that ruling party deliberately lost by-election of Jhang in favour of a banned religious group

KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan Awami Tehreek Dr Tahirul Qadri said on Sunday that Karachi Operation would meet its desired result only when terror sanctuaries in Punjab are uprooted.

Speaking to press at Jinnah International Airport, after returning from Canada, Dr Qadri said: “Karachi never had the problem of sectarian killings, it came from Punjab,” further adding, “not only in Karachi, wherever there are sectarian tensions, wherever there is religious extremism and terrorism, it all originated and spread all across the country from Punjab.”

Dr Qadri alleged that the ruling party deliberately lost the by-election of Jhang in favor of a banned religious group.

“PML-N had never let any political party to win any by-election, but just after the change of command in Army, government assisted Sipah-e-Sahaba/Lashkar-e-Jhangvi in winning the election,” he said.

The PAT chief said that a kingship is being established in Pakistan and in view of establishing real democracy in the country, action against it should be immediately taken, otherwise, even the constitution would remain subservient to it.
