Players line up in silence to pay tribute to PIA plane crash victims before warm-up match

Pakistan and Cricket Australia XI players observed a minute of silence to pay tribute to the victims of PK-661 plane crash ahead of their warm-up match on Thursday.

The players andthe match officials stood in silence in the memory of the victims before the three-day match starting in Cairns, Australia today (Thursday).

The ill-fated PIA flight PK-661, on the way to Islamabad from Chitral, crashed near Havelian in Abbottabad district, claiming the lives of all 47 passengers onboard. Among the victims were renowned singer-turned-religious preacher Junaid Jamshed and his wife. He had been in Chitral for preaching-related work.

A Chitral administration official, Osama Ahmad Warraich was also on the plane with his wife and daughter.

Two Austrians and one Chinese were also among the victims.
