ISLAMABAD: With the Panama Papers case adjourned, to be heard again in January under a new bench, in light of the incumbent Chief Justice of the Supreme Court retiring at the end of this year, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan told journalists that he hoped the same bench would hear the case in the first week of January.
Speaking to journalists in Islamabad, Imran Khan said no matter what happens he will take the Panama case to its logical end. He expressed hopes that the same bench would resume hearing the case in the first week of January.
Imran Khan reiterated his stance that a commission is not needed in this case. WithAwami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed addingthat so far all the commissions which had been created had not met expectations of the public.
Khan toldjournalists,that the Panama case would decide if there are laws for the rich and powerful as well.
The PTI chairman added that the prime minister had claimed all documents regarding finances are available, but the prime minister's counsel told the court he is unable to locate such old documents.
