KARACHI: A penumbral moon eclipse is visible in Pakistan, confirmed Pakistan Meteorological Department on Saturday.

According to a press release issued by PMD, in penumbral lunar eclipse only the more diffused outer shadow of earth falls on the moon’s face. At best, at mid-eclipse, very observant people will notice a dark shading on the moon’s face.

The visibility timings of this lunar eclipse are as followed: Penumbral eclipse begins at 03:34 PST, greatest eclipse at 05:44 PST, Penumbral eclipse ends at 07:53 PST, Penumbral magnitude at 0.9884, Umbral magnitude at -0.0354.

According to an urban myth, the lunar eclipse is harmful to pregnant women, however medical science reiterates that pregnancy is solely related to nutrition.
