DUBAI: Peshawar Zalmi won the sixth match of Pakistan Super League 2017, despite a tremendous fight by Brendon McCullum-led Lahore Qalandars, who were bowled out for 59 runs in their innings at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Yasir Shah got four wickets for 7 runs in his quota of 4 overs as Peshawar lost 7 wickets and took 17 overs to reach the target after bowling Lahore Qalandars out for 59.

Aggressive captaincy of McCullum made life tough for the batsmen of Peshawar Zalmi.

Earlier, four Lahore players, including Brendon McCullum, Umar Akmal and Grant Elliot returned to the pavilion without opening their account in the scorebook.

Only two batsmen from Qalandars, Fakhar Zaman (33) and Muhammad Rizwan (11) could score in double figures, as the entire team was bowled out for 59 in 10.2 overs.

Young Hassan Ali took three wickets while Chris Jordan got two wickets.

Peshawar Zalmi, too, struggled on the wicket which looked difficult for batting as Yasir Shah and Sunil Narine put up tremendous resistance against Zalmis.

A little resistance by Eoin Morgan and Shahid Afridi in middle helped Peshawar stay in hunt. 23 by Morgan and 13 by Afridi brought Peshawar near the victory.

But Afridi miscued one to deep mid-wicket while Morgan was picked up by Yasir Shah to make things bit more interesting.

Captain Darren Sammy and Sohaib Maqsood and failed to impress. It was Wahab Riaz and Chris Jordan who got their team over the line.

Yasir Shah was declared man of the match for his magical bowling.

Next match would be played between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators after two days break on February 15.
