New weather system lashes northern Pakistan with rain and snowfall

Met Department forecasts rain and snowfall to continue over the next 48-hours

ISLAMABAD: The recent rain and snowfall are expected to continue over the next 24-hours with rain and thunderstorms forecast over the next 48-hours according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

According to the latest PMD forecast, rain and snowfall to continue in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, GIlgit-Baltistan, Kashmir while rain has been forecast for Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Faisalabad division as well as in Quetta, Zhob divisions.

Isolated heavy rain and snowfall over the hills in Malakand, Hazara divisions and in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are also expected.

The 48-hour forecast predicts rain with thunderstorms over the hills in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, GIlgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Scattered rainfall has been forecast for Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Faisalabad with the trend continuing in northern Balochistan as well as Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
